Douai, France —COMPOVERT recently took centre stage during the third edition of the Plastics Processing & Environment (PnE) International Congress. Held in Douai, the prestigious event – co-organised by IMT Nord Europe and SFIP – was a great meeting ground for sustainable material innovations, bringing together leading researchers, engineers, and industry pioneers.
Representing the project, our partner Bénédicte Goffin from Certech delivered a compelling presentation highlighting COMPOVERT’s latest breakthroughs in plant-reinforced composites utilising lignin. The presentation shed light on how integrating lignin—a natural polymer derived from plants—can significantly enhance the sustainability and performance of composite materials.
Beyond sharing our technical milestones, PnE 2026 provided a vital platform for industry collaboration. With more than 90 companies in attendance, the COMPOVERT team engaged in meaningful dialogues to better understand the evolving needs and expectations of industrial manufacturers. These insights will play a crucial role in further aligning our ongoing research with market demands, accelerating the transition toward a more circular and eco-friendlier plastics economy.
