Our team recently travelled to Ghent for a collaborative workshop at the intersection of materials science and green energy. The event was a key milestone in our commitment to project capitalisation—the process of capturing and reusing knowledge across different Interreg initiatives.

Amongst the different areas of exchange:

  • Energy transition and hydrogen integration: Discussing on the Belgian Hydrogen ecosystem, electrified hydrogen production and how to drive energy transition forward
  • Biomaterials: Showcasing COMPOVERT’s progress in plant-reinforced functional materials and discussing about the valorisation of cellulose in material science with our colleagues from the ValCelMat project
  • Electrification of processes: Visiting the brand new electrothermal fluidised bed reactor in the premises of UGent

This cross-border workshop was a great example of the power of Interreg cooperation, opening new perspectives for all of the projects and capitalising on each other strengths and visions.
